marketing support

Considering marketing support?

Why should we choose to work with you?

We really do understand the challenges, opportunities and rollercoaster experiences involved in growing a small business. Ideas Into Action was born at the dining room table of our Managing Director, Angela Raspass, in 2004. Originally a solo marketing consultancy with just one client, we’ve enjoyed consistent year on year growth since then. Even the tough times, we’ve achieved growth for our clients and ourselves. Why? Because we focus on taking action, not just ideas – and because we break implementation down into prioritised, achievable steps.

Every member of our team has a strong marketing background, marketing qualification and hands-on experience. We understand and embrace the core value of client engagement. We believe our work with you is a collaboration, not an abdication or a takeover! Take a look at our case studies to see the results you can enjoy when you work with us.

What experience do you have in my industry?

Most of our clients are service based, but we don’t specialise in any specific industry. We believe you are the expert in your industry, and we bring expertise in marketing. This combination leads to synergy and exponential results.

What is Client Engagement? Is it different from traditional marketing?

Client Engagement puts the client at the heart of your business. It’s a philosophy that says focusing on a “target market” is not enough. You need to go deeper; to thoroughly understand your clients’ thoughts, feelings, challenges and motivations. When you focus your messages accordingly, your clients will feel the connection and become drawn to your business. Client Engagement relies on the power of pull marketing (not push marketing), and places high value on long term client relationships, rather than customer transactions.

What results can I expect?

The first results are very tangible: clarity and direction. One of our clients described their marketing workshop like “a shower for my brain – I feel so much clearer now!” The next is more subtle; an increase in energy and enthusiasm as you’re no longer overwhelmed by a myriad of marketing options – you know which ones are best for you. Your budget can now be focused effectively and, when you commit to sustained client engagement rather than binge marketing, you‘ll soon see major results: an increased client base with strong loyalty. This delivers long term profits to your business.

How much should I spend on marketing?

Your investment depends on many factors, but in essence it will be influenced by where your business is at, and what you wish to achieve. As a rule of thumb, 10% of turnover is typically invested into marketing your business.

Why do we need a marketing plan?

The biggest challenge for most small business owners is knowing which activities will bring the results you need. It’s common to put marketing on the backburner, or to bounce from marketing activity to activity without knowing if they are the right ones for your business. This makes it difficult to gain traction and build a sustainable business.

A plan that clarifies your business vision, defines measurable objectives and clearly lays out action strategies to achieve those objectives, keeps you focused and ensures tactics are integrated and goal-focused. With a plan, you can also objectively evaluate opportunities and new ideas to ensure they align with your goals. In short, it’s a vital tool for business growth and success.

Why should you take care of the marketing of my business instead of me?

We actually believe that a collaboration is the best option – not an abdication or a takeover!

There are several key benefits to involving us.

Firstly, it’s precisely because we don’t work in your business that we’re able to bring fresh ideas and a new perspective.

Secondly, hiring full-time marketing staff is costly and time-consuming in wages, office equipment, training costs, etc. By outsourcing, you have flexibility to tap into our brains trust and our trusted supplier network just when you need us – whether it’s to implement a one-off project, or to co-ordinate all marketing activity on an ongoing basis.

And finally, because we’re a small business too, we really understand the challenges, frustrations, excitement and (importantly) the budgets of small businesses. We live and breathe these every day ourselves!
